50 Solidarity activists honoured in Łódź

In the name of the President of Poland, Jan Józef Kasprzyk has awarded 50 Solidarity activists with the Centenary Medal of Regaining Independence

The Head of the Office of Combatants and Repressed Persons (UdSKiOR) Jan Józef Kasprzyk awarded 50 activists in Łódź for their services to an independent Poland as part of Solidarity.

They were honoured, in the name of the President of Poland, with the Centenary Medal of Poland's Regaining Independence.

Kasprzyk said that recognition for activists came late in Poland. This recognition should have come in 1989, "But this did not happen. Only in 2015 did the appropriate act appear for persons repressed for political reasons in PRL."
