Representatives from 43 countries have been invited to take part in the Global E-mobility Forum on September 18 and 19, Polish Deputy Environment Minister Michał Kurtyka said on Wednesday.
He added that Poland wanted to be a global leader in promoting environmentally-friendly electric transport.
Kurtyka also told reporters that low-emission transport meant cleaner air, less noise in cities and a drastic reduction in transportation costs.
International decision makers gathered at a UN climate conference in southern Poland in December adopted a Polish-drafted declaration calling on countries worldwide to increase the role of eco-friendly electric transport.
Poland’s prime minister said at the time that his country aimed to pour at least EUR 3 billion into electromobility over the next 10 years.
