Senior politicians, parliamentarians, business executives and culture leaders were among the over 4,000 guests from Europe, Asia, the United States and the Middle East who were expected to attend the Krynica Economic Forum.
The annual event is billed as the largest conference of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe and is sometimes referred to as the "Polish Davos.”
The conference, which runs from Tuesday to Thursday, includes more than 200 panel discussions and lectures as well as workshops and other events focusing on some of the most pressing problems in Central and Eastern Europe.
In addition to political, economic and social issues, participants are expected to debate health, innovation, cybersecurity and the media during the three-day conference, which seeks answers to the question: “The Europe of Tomorrow: ‘Strong’ Meaning What?”
Key topics include energy, strategic raw materials, economic growth, investment, infrastructure, transportation, environmental challenges, international business cooperation, new technology and digitisation.
This year’s Krynica Economic Forum is being held for the 29th time.
