The appeal has been published in Polish and Ukrainian on the gov.pl website.

Refugees who witnessed Russian crimes are encouraged to come forward to testify and hand over evidence to the Polish authorities, the statement said.

The call is being made in connection with an investigation into the Russian Federation’s military attack on Ukraine, it added.

Those willing to testify are asked to contact the nearest police station, prosecutor’s office or the internal-security agency, ABW, which oversees the probe.

Polish investigators are working in coordination with the Ukrainian authorities, as well as cooperating with the International Criminal Court in the Hague, the statement said.

Friday is day sixteen of the Russian assault on Ukraine, which began on February 24.

Poland on Friday reported it had admitted 1,52 million people escaping the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
