Mateusz Morawiecki unveiled details of the reshuffle on Wednesday, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Former parliamentary Speaker Marek Kuchciński has taken over as Morawiecki’s new chief of staff to replace Michał Dworczyk, who resigned at the end of last month.

Meanwhile, Deputy Foreign Minister Szymon Szynkowski vel Sęk is set to replace Konrad Szymański as Poland's new minister for European affairs.

In an interview with public broadcaster Polish Radio, Morawiecki said on Wednesday that Szynkowski vel Sęk would take on the new role in the coming days.

Earlier in the day, President Andrzej Duda officially appointed Kuchciński to his new position, while thanking Dworczyk and Szymański for their services to the government.

The ceremony took place at Warsaw’s Belweder Palace, with the prime minister in attendance, the PAP news agency reported.

Duda said: “Changes are natural. They always take place and every experienced politician knows it. Meanwhile, work must continue, tasks must continue to be carried out, and the job must be done."

The president thanked Kuchciński “for taking on this new role at a difficult time, when so many difficult decisions have to be made by the Cabinet.”

Morawiecki said Kuchciński's appointment as his new chief of staff "will undoubtedly help all the government administration in tackling the big challenges that lie ahead.”

Morawiecki also thanked Dworczyk for his "very hard and effective work at the Prime Minister’s Office in so many areas.”

Meanwhile, Duda thanked Szymański for overseeing Poland's "complicated European affairs,” Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Morawiecki said “Poland owes a lot" to Szymański's "efforts and seven years of professional service."
