Mateusz Morawiecki’s words came in an end-of-year message, published on Facebook on Friday night.

The PM said: “This was a year that changed the world. 2022 was a time of big challenges that we had to face together. A year of big threats that we largely managed to avoid.”

Morawiecki added: “It was a year of support, solidarity and big investments in the security of Poland and Polish people.”

The PM also expressed “best wishes for the New Year - for Poland, Europe and the world!”

He attached a video illustrating Poland’s support for Ukraine as it defends itself against Russian aggression, the purchases of new weapons for the Polish army and the launch of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline, the PAP news agency reported.

Saturday is day 311 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
