Poland's new parliamentary majority has introduced a bill to extend the freeze on electricity, gas and heat prices for households and public-sector consumers until June 30, 2024.
The lower house of parliament approved this plan in a 247-1 vote with 197 abstentions on Thursday, state news agency PAP reported.
Following some last-minute modifications to the original proposal, households, local governments, public institutions, small and medium-sized companies and farmers would be eligible for the new rules, the PAP news agency reported.
The measure now goes to the Senate, the upper house of Poland's parliament, for further debate.
