Since February last year when Russia invaded its neighbour, over 18.4 million people have crossed into Poland from Ukraine.
Meanwhile, over 16.6 million people have left Poland for Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, including over 22,000 on Friday.
Poland is currently home to around one million Ukrainians, according to the United Nations' High Commissioner for Refugees, after many who had fled Russia's invasion moved on to other countries or decided to return to Ukraine.
Sixty-two percent of Poles are in favour of accepting refugees from war-torn Ukraine, according to a recent survey.
Saturday is day 689 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
