“In relation to reports of debris found in Łuków County, we inform that after conducting preliminary analyses of radar system records, no violations of Polish airspace were detected last night, either from the direction of Ukraine or Belarus,” the command said in a statement.
It added that “information about the discovery of an object, which initial assessments suggest may be part of an old engine with a propeller, was passed on to the Air Operations Centre - Air Component Command.”
Military police and other services are now carrying out a detailed examination of the debris, while air and ground search-and-rescue teams have been deployed to check the wider area.
The statement also stressed that “the personnel of Poland’s air defence system conduct round-the-clock monitoring of national airspace and remain in constant readiness to ensure its security.”
