“We must win the elections; we must build a programme that will serve that goal—one that appeals to all key groups in our society,” Kaczyński told supporters at the close of a two-day policy convention in the southern city of Katowice.
The gathering marked the start of work on a new PiS political platform, state news agency PAP reported.
Kaczyński pledged to simplify Poland’s tax system and said his party would seek both to reward ambition and to ensure a fair distribution of wealth so that “those less fortunate can live with dignity.”
He said the next election would be a choice “between a path that leads to disaster and one that leads to great success,” adding that Poland "must not waste its chances.”
Kaczyński also called for continued military strengthening amid Russia’s war in neighbouring Ukraine, alongside policies to boost economic growth and improve living standards.
The convention, held at the International Congress Centre in Katowice, featured two speeches by Kaczyński, a debate on NATO’s eastern flank and more than 100 panel discussions attended by several thousand participants.
The event coincided with a centrist convention in Warsaw, where Tusk announced the formal merger of his Civic Platform party with the Modern and Polish Initiative groups under the single name Civic Coalition (KO).
