The satellite, built by the Polish-Finnish consortium ICEYE, was originally scheduled for launch on November 11, Poland’s Independence Day.

It will be deployed into low Earth orbit aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-15 mission.

The launch will take place from a Space Force base in California, according to the military statement.

ICEYE, the satellite’s manufacturer, signed a contract in May with Poland’s Ministry of Defence under the "MikroSAR" programme, in partnership with Military Communication Works No. 1 in Łódź.

The agreement covers the delivery of a Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) Earth Observation Satellite System for the Polish Armed Forces.

The total value of the contract is approximately PLN 860 million (EUR 203 million), with the guaranteed order including three satellites and an optional purchase of up to three additional units.

The subsequent satellites are scheduled for launch in 2026.
