An expert team appointed by the Ministry of Culture is drafting a bill to revise Poland’s state symbols.
Culture Minister Marta Cienkowska reportedly said she hopes the work will be completed by the end of the current parliamentary term, possibly by fall of next year.
The existing law governing the coat of arms, national colors, anthem, and state seals dates back to 1980, with some provisions originating in 1955. Experts say the legal framework and visual designs are outdated.
The changes are expected to be modest and aimed at standardizing and modernizing the official representations of national symbols.
Discussions may also include adjustments to the national anthem, Rzeczpospolita reported.
