Police in northern Poland said that officers from the Słupsk City Police Department escorted Piotr K. to the prosecutor’s office on Wednesday in connection with Monday evening’s incident, which occurred in an apartment on Bałtycka Street.

According to Patryk Wegner, the district prosecutor in Słupsk, Piotr K. admitted the charges during a brief statement and now faces a potential life sentence.

During the attack, he fatally stabbed his four-year-old daughter, while his wife and mother-in-law sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

In total, five people, including the assailant, were wounded. Witnesses described the assault as sudden and unprovoked.

“They had been playing cards that evening. He had consumed only a minimal amount of alcohol. At one point, he went to the kitchen, returned, and launched the attack.

There was no apparent trigger,” Wegner said. He added that the number and severity of the wounds indicated extreme agitation, the cause of which remains unclear.

Piotr K. had been visiting his in-laws on leave at the time of the incident. He has been suspended from duty, and internal procedures are underway to determine whether he should be expelled from the State Protection Service, where he had served for 23 years.

Authorities are also reviewing his recent medical and psychological evaluations.
