Magyar made the announcement after the first meeting of his new government, held in Opusztaszer in southern Hungary, confirming earlier pledges to make Poland his inaugural destination abroad.

"I will go first to Poland, with seven ministers, where I will visit Kraków first", he said on Wednesday .

From Kraków, Magyar said he would travel to Warsaw by high-speed rail — taking a pointed swipe at his predecessor Viktor Orbán's eurosceptic rhetoric by noting the train was "built with money from that evil Brussels". He invited "dear propagandists" of the former government to join him on the journey.

In Warsaw, Magyar said he would hold "very important bilateral talks, primarily with Donald Tusk", as well as a meeting with President Nawrocki. He will then travel to Gdańsk, where he plans to meet former Solidarity trade union leader and ex-Polish president Lech Wałęsa.

After Poland, Magyar will proceed to Vienna before returning to Budapest by train.
