Piotr Antoni Skiba, spokesman for the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, said an analysis of material posted by individuals linked to Gromda showed content that is radically xenophobic and racist, aimed mainly at Ukrainians, people of other races and migrants from Africa and Asia. He said the posts also promote the idea of breaking the state’s monopoly on the use of force.
According to Skiba, the form and presentation of the material justify examining whether it promotes extremist ideology, including incitement to violence intended to influence political or social life. He confirmed that prosecutors launched an investigation on Wednesday into the publication of xenophobic and racist content on the federation’s social media channels.
The assault in Wrocław took place on Sunday. Two men were detained. Tomasz M., 27, faces up to five years in prison. Adam C., 45, faces up to seven and a half years. Adam C. is a competitor with Gromda, a Polish bare‑knuckle boxing organization founded in 2020.
Gromda regularly posts content about migrants and “Polish hooligans” on its social media accounts. One post reads: “This is Poland. This is our piece of land and our rules. If you don’t like it, get out.” The posts include images of fighters holding hammers and batons. The federation’s Facebook page has 531,000 followers.
