Polish champions Lech Poznań lost 3-4 in a penalty shootout at home to Denmark's Aarhus GF in the second leg after the teams finished level on aggregate.
Aarhus won the second leg 4-1 after extra time, overturning Lech's 4-1 victory in the first leg to level the two-match tie at 5-5 before prevailing on penalties.
The Danish club advanced to the third qualifying round of the Champions League, while Lech dropped into the third qualifying round of the Europa League, where it will face KÍ Klaksvík of the Faroe Islands.
Polish Cup winners Górnik Zabrze drew 1-1 at home with Turkey's Fenerbahçe in the second leg but was eliminated after losing the first match 0-1, falling 1-2 on aggregate.
Górnik will continue in the third qualifying round of the Europa League, where it will face the winner of the tie between FC Twente of the Netherlands and Hungary's Ferencváros.
