During his visit, which begins on Thursday and runs through Saturday, Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Poland's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha for bilateral consultations.
India's foreign ministry said in a statement that the visit was aimed at "enhancing bilateral relations" and would provide an opportunity to "exchange views on regional developments and issues of mutual interest."
Jaishankar was greeted at Warsaw airport on Wednesday by India's ambassador to Poland, Neeta Bhushan.
His visit to Poland comes amid speculation over a possible trip to India by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
Poland’s ambassador to India said last month that a visit by Tusk, which would be his third to New Delhi, would send a strong signal of cooperation, Germany’s international broadcaster Deutsche Welle reported.
There has been no formal confirmation of the visit, it said.
Jaishankar's trip also reflects broader efforts by New Delhi to deepen ties with Central and Eastern European countries, according to the DW report.
After his meetings in Poland, Jaishankar will travel to Ukraine.
His Ukraine visit comes days after Modi met with Putin on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, on Monday. During the meeting, Modi urged an end to the war in Ukraine.
Poland's Sikorski was in India in January, a trip during which he pressed for closer security, defence and industrial ties, while urging support for Ukraine against Russia's invasion.
The trip marked his first visit to India since 2011 and the first by a Polish foreign minister since the two countries established a strategic partnership in 2024.
Poland’s foreign ministry said in a statement at the time that Warsaw viewed India as a strategic partner for diversifying trade, investment and technology ties, describing the country as one of the world's fastest-growing markets.
The ministry said Sikorski's trip reflected intensified Polish-Indian cooperation since the relationship was elevated to a strategic partnership during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Poland in 2024.
