This year Łódź is celebrating 600 years since its being accorded town rights in 1423. The whole year 2023 includes celebrations, but this weekend is the culmination.

Łódź began life as a small settlement, in the 14th century or earlier. King Władysław II Jagiełło granted the settlement town rights in 1423, exactly 600 years ago.
