Located in the capital’s Powiśle district near the Vistula River, the site is described as one of the biggest roof gardens in Europe, covering more than a hectare.
“A gentle slope leads to the lower garden, which has a duck pond and a series of granite sculptures," the paper wrote. It noted that the upper garden is divided into four colourful sections: gold, silver, red and green.
The areas are connected by paths, bridges and pergolas, and a cascading water feature joins the upper and lower parts.
Other green spaces on The Guardian’s list include El Capricho Park in Madrid, the Onion Garden in London, the Anne Frank Garden in Paris, the Brera Botanical Gardens in Milan, the Károlyi-kert Garden in Budapest, and the Diomedes Botanical Gardens in Athens.
The daily described all these sites as “hidden havens to escape the summer heat and tourist crowds.”
