In a morning panel titled “Can Europe Defend Itself?”, Nawrocki said the United States remains Poland’s most important ally and described NATO as “stable,” despite growing tensions over Greenland.

“Tensions around Greenland do not mean we have forgotten about Russia’s war against Ukraine,” Nawrocki said. “We still feel threatened by Russia; we are in the middle of a hybrid war.”

The Polish president voiced hope that the Greenland dispute will be resolved diplomatically and added that the war in Ukraine remains the most important issue for Poland, NATO’s eastern flank, and “the entire free world.” He was joined on the defense panel by NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte and Finnish President Alexander Stubb.

Trump is scheduled to deliver a speech later Wednesday afternoon.

The day’s program includes over 60 events and panels. Belarusian opposition leader Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya and Moldovan Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu are scheduled to discuss how Western sanctions are affecting Russia’s economy and its war in Ukraine.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang are also among the featured speakers.

A panel titled “Reshuffles and Surprises in the Middle East” will bring together the foreign ministers of the U.K., Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan — Yvette Cooper, Faisal bin Farhan, and Mohammad Ishaq Dar — along with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi.
