Officials said the situation is being closely monitored, with ongoing investigations conducted in coordination with the military and police to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The events took place on the night of 28 January 2026, when unidentified objects entered Polish airspace from Belarus, prompting the military to temporarily restrict civilian flights over part of north-eastern Poland.
Military radar systems continuously tracked the objects, which were initially assessed as “most likely balloon-type” and not posing any threat to national security.
Authorities emphasised that the measures were purely precautionary, and the situation continues to be monitored closely in coordination with relevant services, with the Polish Armed Forces on standby to protect the airspace.
