“In the morning, police detained two men in Usnarz Górny,” local police spokesman Tomasz Krupa said.

“They informed the police that they were journalists with RT France ... They failed to produce a permit from the Border Guard to enter the emergency zone,” Krupa added.

RT France is the French branch of the Russian state-controlled news channel Russia Today.

At the beginning of September, two reporters from the Polish news website Onet were detained for entering the emergency zone.

In early October, three ARTE TV journalists were detained and faced charges.

The state of emergency, which was originally introduced in the border areas in September for a month, was last month extended by two months.

The special measures forbid staying in the designated zone except for those who live or work there, or are employed in emergency and security services.
