Polish FM to visit South Korea, Vietnam

Poland's Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau is scheduled to visit Asia next week for talks with officials in South Korea and Vietnam.

"On 13-17 March, Minister of Foreign Affairs Zbigniew Rau will be paying a visit to Asia to hold political consultations in the Republic of Korea and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam," the Polish foreign ministry said in statement.

It added that, during his trip to Seoul, Rau would meet with South Korean Unification Minister Kwon Young-se.

While in South Korea, Rau will also visit the demilitarized zone between the Koreas, the statement said.

While in Hanoi, Rau will meet with his Vietnamese counterpart Bui Thanh Son and attend a ceremony during which the Polish foreign ministry's Diplomatic Academy will sign a cooperation agreement with the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam, according to the statement.

On the sidelines of his visit to Hanoi, Poland's top diplomat will meet with "members of the Poland-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Group at the National Assembly," the Polish foreign ministry said.
