"I just had a very good phone conversation with President Donald Trump," Duda wrote on X on Friday evening.
"The main topic was the security of Poland and our region in the context of the concluded Bucharest Nine (B9) summit in Vilnius and the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, as well as the issue of increasing the level of defence spending by member states," he said.
Duda added that he assured Trump that the election of his successor, Karol Nawrocki, guarantees continuity in Poland’s key policies, particularly the country's strong transatlantic ties and close cooperation with the United States.
Duda is set to leave office on August 6 at the end of his second term. He was constitutionally barred from seeking a third.
Earlier this week, Trump congratulated Nawrocki on his victory in Poland’s June 1 presidential runoff.
Nawrocki, a pro-Trump Eurosceptic, won 50.89 percent of the vote, narrowly defeating centrist rival Rafał Trzaskowski, who received 49.11 percent.
