The accident occurred at around 5 p.m. Polish time on 29 July, near the Red Sea resort town of Marsa Alam.
According to foreign ministry spokesperson Paweł Wroński, both victims were Polish nationals and were taking part in an optional excursion.
The Polish consul in Cairo is overseeing the case and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Polish diplomats are also providing assistance and support to the victims’ family.

Polish foreign ministry spokesperson Paweł Wroński gave further details about the accident involving Polish citizens in Egypt during a press conference on Wednesday.
According to Wroński, two other Polish nationals were injured and required hospitalization. Additionally, one more person suffered an orthopedic leg injury but did not need to stay in hospital. The spokesperson emphasized that currently, none of the Poles involved face any immediate danger.
“Our consul will speak with the prosecutor handling the investigation, remains in contact with the authorities, as well as with representatives of the travel agencies whose clients were Polish citizens,” he added.
The death of a 41-year-old Polish woman and her 7-year-old child occurred during a trip to the town of Hamata, located near Marsa Alam in Egypt, Wroński reported. The third fatality was a 45-year-old Egyptian man.
