In an official statement released on Thursday afternoon, the ministry said: “Poland is concerned by the IDF expanding their ground operation in the Gaza Strip, a move which has no sufficient military grounds and which causes unacceptable humanitarian consequences for the enclave's civilian population. We reiterate our call on Israel to ensure full protection of civilians and immediately increase deliveries of humanitarian aid.”

The ministry also referenced a UN Commission of Inquiry report published on 16 September, saying it is “with the deepest concern” over the finding that Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and bears responsibility for it.

Poland said it is taking part in current EU work to consider appropriate economic and political steps in response. It also reiterated calls for the unconditional release of all hostages held by Hamas and for a permanent ceasefire.
