Speaking to ČTK, President Pavel said that if peacekeeping forces are deployed in Ukraine, the Czech Republic should be part of them, as it is an active player in the peace process and should be ready for practical involvement in stabilisation efforts.

Pavel also welcomed ongoing coordination between the United States, Europe, and Ukraine, noting that Washington has expressed clear support for security guarantees.

At the same time, he warned against excessive optimism, emphasizing that while territorial concessions would technically violate international law, they may be necessary to end the war and prevent further casualties.

The president also raised the possibility of a demilitarized zone along the front lines, which could be monitored by international forces, including the Czech Republic.

The politician emphasized that specific arrangements would depend on the final peace agreement and that Prague could contribute to both technical and physical oversight of such a zone.

If peacekeeping forces are deployed in Ukraine, the Czech Republic could and should be part of them, President Petr Pavel said in an interview.
