The reopening had originally been planned earlier but was postponed at the request of Lithuania.
The decision follows talks between the Polish and Lithuanian prime ministers on Wednesday (29 October).
Donald Tusk of Poland and Inga Ruginiene of Lithuania agreed that their countries would coordinate their border policies. Lithuania’s borders with Belarus will remain closed until 30 November.
Earlier, on Tuesday (28 October), Prime Minister Tusk announced that crossings at Bobrowniki and Kuźnica would reopen later in November, while the Połowce crossing would remain closed for the time being.
Lithuania has also temporarily shut its land border with Belarus for a month, citing security concerns after several incidents involving smuggling balloons entering its airspace, which forced temporary closures of the Vilnius airport.
