The new program, Vot Tak. Moldova, will operate independently from its Russian-language counterpart, which began broadcasting in May 2025. Both are part of the Vot Tak editorial team under TVP’s Foreign Media Center. The Romanian-language edition will also include a website and social media channels.
“Vot Tak. Moldova is not just a news service. We expose Russian disinformation, counter Kremlin narratives, and show the benefits of Moldova’s path toward the European Union,” said Jerzy Sałodki, head of the Vot Tak editorial team.
The service will be hosted by Moldovan journalist Ekaterina Tanasiichuk, who recently relocated to Warsaw. “We’ll feature experts and politicians, discuss propaganda mechanisms, and highlight how Poland supports democratic processes,” she said.
The move comes amid heightened concerns about Russian influence in Moldova, particularly around the 2024 presidential and 2025 parliamentary elections. A recent referendum on EU accession passed with just over 50% support.
TVP said the decision to expand was driven by the popularity of the Russian-language service and the desire to reach more Moldovans in their native language.
The Vot Tak initiative is part of Poland’s broader strategy to support democratic values and independent journalism in Eastern Europe, especially in countries affected by Kremlin propaganda.
