Speaking during a visit to India, Tusk said he would attend the 2027 summit of the group of 20 major economies in person as Poland seeks permanent membership in the group.
The summit is scheduled to be held in Manchester on November 27-28, 2027.
This year's G20 summit is scheduled for December 14-15 in Miami, Florida, where it will be hosted by US President Donald Trump.
Poland has participated in G20 meetings this year as a guest country invited by the United States, which holds the group's presidency in 2026.
Warsaw is seeking permanent observer or guest status and ultimately full membership in the G20, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Tusk said Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had told him that India welcomed Poland's participation in this year's summit and would support Poland's permanent presence in the G20.
The Polish prime minister said he was "pleasantly surprised" by Modi's declaration.
Poland's efforts to secure a permanent role in the G20 have also received support from the European Commission, which has backed formalising Poland's presence in the group and the involvement of all EU member states in its work.
The US State Department said on October 11 that Washington intended to continue discussions with G20 members on making Poland a full member as soon as possible, according to Polish state news agency PAP.
The United States has also proposed including a clause on Poland's permanent membership in the leaders' statement at the December summit.
Such a move, however, would require agreement from all other G20 members, including Russia.
