The announcement followed a meeting between Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and AstraZeneca Chairman Leif Johansson at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, on Wednesday.

“I am very happy to confirm that we have agreed huge new investments …," Morawiecki told reporters after the meeting.

AstraZeneca said in a statement that it was planning to invest PLN 1.5 billion (EUR 350 million, USD 390 million) in the country over the next five years, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
