Tennis–Wimbledon: Świątek advances to fourth round with straight-sets win over Collins

Poland’s Iga Świątek moved into the fourth round at Wimbledon with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over American Danielle Collins on Saturday.

The world No. 4 delivered a controlled and efficient performance, breaking Collins early in both sets and maintaining a steady level throughout.

Świątek committed just 10 unforced errors, while her opponent struggled with consistency, particularly in the opening stages.

The match lasted one hour and 15 minutes and marked Świątek’s eighth win in ten meetings against Collins.

The 24-year-old Pole will next face Denmark’s Clara Tauson, who upset 11th seed Elena Rybakina earlier in the day.

Świątek, a five-time Grand Slam champion, is bidding to improve on her best Wimbledon result – a quarter-final appearance in 2023.
