Total is currently bringing in 240,000 barrels of Russian oil per day to the Leuna refinery in eastern Germany, the biznesalert.pl website reported.
The contract runs until the end of the year and the French company has said it will not be renewing it, according to biznesalert.pl.
Instead, Total will import oil from Saudi Arabia via Poland, the Polish website reported.
Poland has been bringing in Saudi oil through its terminal in the northern port city of Gdańsk, according to biznesalert.pl.
The announcement comes as European Union member countries consider slapping an embargo on Russian oil and gas in retaliation for Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine.
The bloc’s leaders could make the move when they meet for a summit in Brussels, Belgium on Thursday and Friday, biznesalert.pl reported.
