The Czech Republic boasted the lowest jobless rate in the bloc in November, at 2.7 percent, followed by Poland and Germany, each with 3 percent, according to the Eurostat agency.

Meanwhile, Spain had the highest seasonally-adjusted jobless rate in the EU, at 12.4 percent, while Greek unemployment was the second-highest at 11.4 percent, the agency's data showed.

Eurostat reported that the EU average for November was 6 percent, stable compared with October.

Poland's statistics office (GUS), which uses a different methodology, reported at the end of last year that the Polish jobless rate had stayed flat at 5.1 percent in November, unchanged from October.

Poland’s social policy minister estimated last week that the country's unemployment rate inched up by 0.1 percentage point to 5.2 percent in December.
