Home completions up 3.1% in Poland in first four months of 2023: stats office

Builders in Poland completed 3.1 percent more homes in the first four months of this year than in the same period in 2022, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) has reported.

Around 75,600 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of April, the office said.

It added that the number of housing starts in January, February, March and April, at around 53,100 in total, was 27.7 percent lower than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector increased by 1.2 percent in April in year-on-year terms, while falling 3.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

Builders completed around 238,600 new homes in Poland last year, 1.7 percent more than in 2021, Statistics Poland estimated earlier this year.
