Beroud was the president of Warsaw's Fast City Railway SKM for the last three years. As PKP S.A. emphasized in its announcement, while helming the SKM Beroud was responsible for the implementation of the largest investment project in the company's history, expanding the rolling stock with 21 new vehicles worth PLN 668 million (EUR 155,5 million).

The railway company has also underlined their new president's extensive experience in managing projects of strategic importance for the country - such as the construction of an LNG terminal, underground gas storage facilities and oil & natural gas mines. In the course of his career, Beroud also managed commercial companies in the construction and construction industry.

Pursuant to the march regulations change by Poland's Council of Ministers, ownership supervision over Polish State Railways PKP S.A. is currently exercised by the country's Minister of Infrastructure.

PKP S.A. is also the parent company of the PKP Group - one of the largest real estate managers in Poland, owning approximately 90% of the country's active railway stations, as well as numerous plots, buildings, structures and residential premises, also unrelated to the transport. The PKP Group includes companies such as carriers PKP Cargo, PKP LHS, PKP Intercity and Tricity SKM, as well as PKP Informatyka and PKP TELKOL.
