The meeting took place at the MESKO defense plant in Skarżysko-Kamienna, central Poland, where the ministers focused on bilateral defense cooperation and regional security challenges.
Poland and Belgium signed a letter of intent formalizing closer military collaboration.
Belgium has expressed interest in purchasing Poland’s Piorun man-portable air defense systems - a combat-proven weapon widely used by Ukraine to counter Russian drones, helicopters, and low-flying aircraft.
Since 2022, countries like Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia, Slovakia, and the United States have already placed orders for these systems, known for their portability and effectiveness on the battlefield.
The Piorun launchers, produced by MESKO, require just one soldier to operate and are compact enough to fit in a backpack, making them highly valued in modern warfare scenarios.
