New high-speed train to connect Warsaw with Baltic coast this summer

Poland’s long-distance rail carrier PKP Intercity has announced a new seasonal high-speed Pendolino service linking Warsaw and the seaside city of Świnoujście, offering a fast and convenient travel option for holidaymakers.

Starting June 18, the high-speed train will make the nearly 600-kilometre journey in 5 hours and 37 minutes.

Departures from Warsaw are scheduled for 4 p.m., arriving in Świnoujście at 9:37 p.m., well timed for travellers catching overnight ferries to Sweden.

The return service will launch the following day, June 19, leaving Świnoujście at 6:22 a.m. and arriving in the capital at 11:59 a.m.

Tickets are already on sale through PKP Intercity’s website, mobile app and at station ticket offices.

Prices for second-class seats start at PLN 89 (around USD 22) from Warsaw, PLN 49 (USD 12) from Poznań, and PLN 29 (USD 7) from Szczecin.

The Pendolino trains will run on this route through the end of the summer holiday season.
