About 5 million jobs in Poland, or just over 30 percent of the workforce, may be partially automated through generative artificial intelligence (GenAI).

To better understand its impact on Poland’s labour market, national research institute NASK and the International Labour Organization have developed an index of occupations considered to be most affected by GenAI.

Women are disproportionately represented in most vulnerable occupations, with nearly 40 percent of their jobs susceptible to GenAI.

"Despite the significant changes we've undergone in recent years, there is still a strong occupational segregation, and women continue to perform jobs that are more exposed to technological change and the negative consequences of automation," co-author Paweł Gmyrek told public broadcaster Polish Radio.

"I particularly mean roles in office and administrative work, where we find a higher percentage of female holders," he added.
