The Polish economy grew 3.4 percent in the second quarter of this year, after expanding 3.2 percent in the first quarter, according to a flash estimate from the country’s statistics office.
In quarter-on-quarter terms, Poland's gross domestic product grew 0.8 percent in the second quarter of 2025, after expanding 0.7 percent in the first three months of the year, the Statistics Poland agency reported.
'Fastest-growing economy in Europe': PM
Prime Minister Donald Tusk hailed the data in a social media post, calling Poland "the fastest-growing economy in Europe" on a quarter-on-quarter basis.
He also praised the "can-do" spirit of the Polish people.
'We're revving up': finance minister
Finance Minister Andrzej Domański also celebrated the latest figures, writing on X: “We’re revving up! The Polish economy grew 3.4 percent in the second quarter, compared to 3.2 percent in the previous quarter. Amid slow growth in the EU, our economy is demonstrating exceptional resilience."
The Polish statistics office is expected to report full second-quarter data on September 1.
The Polish economy expanded by 2.9 percent in 2024 as a whole, after growing 0.1 percent in 2023, according to Statistics Poland.
Poland’s central bank in July predicted that the Polish economy would expand 3.6 percent this year, followed by 3.1 percent growth in 2026 and 2.5 percent in 2027.
The country's 2025 budget expects the economy to grow 3.9 percent this year.
Polish GDP is expected to grow 3.5 percent in 2026, according to a set of macroeconomic targets adopted by the government in June.
