The country’s budget deficit is expected to be no more than PLN 271.7 billion (EUR 63.7 billion, USD 74.4 billion) next year.

Government revenue is expected to total PLN 647.2 billion in 2026, with spending set at PLN 918.9 billion, state news agency PAP reported.

The proposed budget ensures full financing for the government’s key social assistance projects, including the generous "Family 800-plus" child benefit programme, officials said.

Meanwhile, health spending is expected to total PLN 247.8 billion, and defence spending is expected to reach PLN 200 billion, standing at 4.8 percent of GDP next year, according to officials.

Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domański described the government's financial plan as "a budget of security, investment and support for citizens."

"Security is our absolute priority, that's why we are allocating a record PLN 200 billion to defence next year," Domański told a news conference in Warsaw.

He added that Poland "must be prepared not only militarily, but also economically."

Prime Minister Donald Tusk said next year’s budget would deliver "the largest army, the fastest economic growth, the biggest investment projects, an end to high prices and low unemployment."

He acknowledged this would "come at the cost of a high deficit" but insisted that "everything is under control.”
