Inflation in Poland stood at 2.8 percent in year-on-year terms in August, the country’s statistics office said in a flash estimate on Friday.
The figure was 0.1 percentage point lower than forecast by economists surveyed by state news agency PAP.
"As I said: the end of the PiS era of high prices," Tusk wrote on social media, referring to the previous right-wing government led by the Law and Justice (PiS) party.
"Inflation has dropped significantly below 3 percent," he added.
In July, the prices of consumer goods and services in Poland were 3.1 percent higher than in the same month a year earlier, according to the state-run Statistics Poland (GUS) agency.
In June, Poland's consumer price index stood at 4.1 percent, Statistics Poland reported.
Next year, Polish inflation is expected to average 3.1 percent under the budget adopted by the government on Thursday.
The Polish central bank predicted in its latest Inflation Report, released on July 4, that inflation would average 3.9 percent in 2025, followed by 3.1 percent in 2026 and 2.4 percent in 2027.
