The contract, led by General Electric Aerospace in Ohio, would cover maintenance and support for 32 F-35A jets that Poland ordered in 2020. The first aircraft are due for delivery in 2026, with all scheduled to arrive by 2030.
Washington said the deal will strengthen Poland’s ability to respond to current and future threats while supporting US foreign policy and national security goals. It stressed that the agreement would not alter the military balance in the region or affect US defense readiness.
The F-35, built by Lockheed Martin, is a fifth-generation stealth fighter used by multiple NATO members as well as countries such as Israel, South Korea and Singapore.
It combines advanced radar-evading design with networked sensors and the ability to carry long-range weapons, including the AGM-158 JASSM cruise missile.
