The event’s current deal with Lisbon runs through the end of 2028, Poland's PAP news agency reported.

Poland is holding discussions “to move Web Summit from Lisbon to Poland,” Rosiński said on Tuesday.

“It involves certain costs, but I think it is worth it,” he added, arguing the event could attract investors.

He did not disclose a price tag beyond saying expenses would be high.

A new host city has not been chosen, but Warsaw has “the greatest chances,” Rosiński said.

Kraków and Gdańsk are also being considered. Key factors include hotel capacity and air connections, he added.

Rosiński said Poland offers strong advantages: “We are the largest country in Central Europe, the most innovative, and the fastest-developing from the point of view of start-ups. In our and the organizers’ view, it would be a very attractive location.”

Web Summit, founded in 2009, was first held in Dublin and has been staged in Lisbon since 2016 under an agreement valid through 2028.

Rosiński also said Poland is in parallel talks to host Gitex. The trade fair is held in Dubai and drew about 200,000 visitors in its latest edition; a European edition took place this year in Berlin.
