Poland has become one of the fastest-growing adopters of artificial intelligence, with 31% of working-age people already using AI tools, according to new data from the Microsoft AI Economy Institute published by Polish daily Rzeczpospolita.

The report shows that AI adoption in Poland is growing 70% faster than the global average, placing the country on par with economies such as Germany and the United States. Crossing the 30% threshold signals that more companies are beginning to use AI strategically, said Iwona Szylar, chief executive of Microsoft in Poland.

However, behind the impressive growth figures lies a more complex reality. While businesses are rapidly introducing AI solutions, many remain poorly prepared to use the technology effectively.

According to a report by EFL, around half of the surveyed companies described their AI-related skills as “moderate,” while 43% admitted their competencies were low.

The lack of preparation may explain why many firms are struggling to see results from AI investments. Research cited by the newspaper from MIT Media Lab found that as many as 95% of businesses reported no measurable benefits from implementing AI technologies.

Analysts say Poland is now at a strategic turning point, where future growth will depend less on access to technology and more on whether businesses can adopt a long-term approach to AI development and workforce readiness.
