The eclipse starts at 8:44pm Polish time, with the shadow the Earth throws on the moon expected to be more clearly visible just after 10pm.
Some 60 to 65 percent of the moon will in shadow at the peak of the eclipse, according to experts.
Tuesday also marks 50 years since the launch of NASA’s historic Apollo 11 mission which landed the first men on the moon.
Astronaut Neil Armstrong’s first step on the surface was broadcast live on TV world-wide and described by him as “one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind.”
