Over 7.26 million COVID-19 shots administered in Poland: gov't data

A total of 7,263,426 COVID-19 vaccine shots have been administered in Poland so far, including a record 244,748 over the last 24 hours, officials announced on Friday.

Public health authorities said that 5,695 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Friday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 7,769 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Friday, Poland had injected over 5.16 million first doses, while nearly 2.1 million people have received a second shot, health ministry data showed.

Poland on Friday reported 28,487 new coronavirus infections and 768 more deaths, its second-deadliest day on record, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,528,006 and fatalities to 57,427.
