Nearly 10.5 million Poles fully vaccinated for COVID-19: gov't data

Public health authorities said that 11,121 adverse reactions had been reported among those who received the vaccines by Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, a total of 25,038 doses have been wasted in the rollout, according to the Polish health ministry.

As of Thursday, Poland had injected more than 15.8 million first doses of COVID-19 vaccines, while nearly 10.5 million people had been fully inoculated, health ministry data showed.

The tally includes two-dose vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca as well as Johnson & Johnson's one-shot vaccine.

Children aged 12 to 15 have been given the green light to be vaccinated against COVID-19 in Poland as the country ramps up its inoculation campaign.

Poland on Thursday reported 218 new coronavirus infections and 46 more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the country's total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,878,276 and fatalities to 74,734.
