It received the certificate from the Madrid-based Food and Wines from Spain organisation, becoming one of the world’s 129 and Europe’s 59 establishments recognised as authentic ambassadors of Spanish cuisine.

The aim of the ‘Restaurant from Spain’ certification programme is to establish quality standards and criteria for consumers looking for quality Spanish cuisine, as well as models that can be followed by restaurateurs who may wish to offer Spanish cuisine across the world.

To become eligible for the certificate, a restaurant has to meet several criteria. It has to have at least one person who can speak to the clients in Spanish and who can explain the concept behind the restaurant and its menu, as well as a chef who is qualified to prepare Spanish dishes and recipes.

Spanish dishes have to account for at least 60 percent of the menu.

Moreover, ‘Restaurants from Spain’ are required to use PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) and PGI (Protected Geographical Indication) foods from Spain.

In the Basque language Euskadi stands for ‘the Basque country’.

The Euskadi Restaurant is located on Kazimierza Brodzińskiego 4/U1 Street in Kraków’s Podgórze district.
