A recent study has given an insight into a special bond between Poles and their cars, revealing that for 55% of Polish drivers a car is like a friend and for 23% is like family.

For 70% of the surveyed, the car is also key to their social image, by means of which others can draw conclusions with regard to their personality traits.

Perversely, Polish cars are amongst Europe’s oldest, with an average age hovering around 14 years, according to a report by the Polish Automotive Industry Association.

But in recent years Poles have been caring about their vehicles, regularly changing car fluids and checking tyre pressure.

Polish motorists would also take their car for a looksee at the garage rather than fix it by themselves, at the same time buying only spare parts recommended by their friendly mechanic.
